Odin is seeking an experienced Security Manager to lead all physical-security and site-protection operations for The Barn, a $7 billion, 1.4‑gigawatt hyperscale AI data‑center campus under development in Saline Township, Michigan. The project is being developed by Related Digital, constructed by Walbridge, and will ultimately support AI operations for OpenAI and Oracle. At peak construction, the site will employ more than 2,500 union tradespeople and represents one of the most significant critical‑infrastructure projects currently underway in the Midwest.
The Security Manager will serve as the senior on‑site authority for security operations, responsible for access control, incident response, law‑enforcement coordination, and protection of personnel, assets, and infrastructure throughout construction and transition to operations. Strong preference will be given to retired or recently retired local law‑enforcement officers with experience and relationships in Washtenaw County or surrounding jurisdictions.
Site Security Leadership- Act as the senior on‑site security leader for all phases of construction.
- Develop, implement, and manage the Site Security Plan specific to The Barn.
- Establish and enforce command‑and‑control protocols aligned with Odin, Walbridge, and owner requirements.
- Oversee badging, credentialing, and access control for a large, multi‑employer union workforce.
- Coordinate closely with Walbridge site leadership to integrate security into daily construction operations.
- Enforce policies related to perimeter security, unauthorized access, and credential misuse.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to theft, vandalism, protest activity, insider threats, and public‑safety concerns.
- Lead response to security incidents, emergencies, or disruptions.
- Maintain incident reports, after‑action reviews, and daily security logs.
- Serve as the primary liaison with Saline Township Police, Washtenaw County Sheriff, Michigan State Police, and fire/EMS.
- Coordinate joint response planning, emergency drills, and escalation protocols.
- Support leadership during community‑facing events, protests, or public meetings when security presence is required.
- Manage contract security providers and on‑site officers.
- Establish post orders, patrol routes, schedules, and escalation thresholds.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, inspections, and compliance checks.
- Provide daily and weekly security briefings to Odin leadership and project stakeholders.
- Escalate material risks promptly with clear mitigation recommendations.
- Support audits, owner reviews, and regulatory inquiries as needed.
- Prior service as a law‑enforcement officer (municipal, county, or state).
- Demonstrated leadership experience in security operations, site command, or large‑facility protection.
- Working knowledge of incident command systems, access control, and perimeter security.
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex construction environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Retired or soon‑to‑retire local law‑enforcement officer from Saline Township, Washtenaw County, Ann Arbor, or adjacent communities.
- Experience securing critical infrastructure, data centers, utilities, or large industrial projects.
- Established professional relationships with local first responders and municipal leadership.
- Experience managing security in environments involving public opposition or heightened scrutiny.
- Military service or federal law‑enforcement experience is a plus.

Walbridge project leadership, owner representatives, local law enforcement, and emergency services
The Barn is a nationally significant AI and critical‑infrastructure project. Security operations must balance:
- Protection of high‑value assets and infrastructure
- Safety and accountability for a large union workforce
- Coordination with local authorities and community stakeholders
- A zero‑failure tolerance for access control and incident response
This role places the Security Manager at the center of one of the most important data‑center construction efforts in the country.
