Lead growth, build relationships, and drive results. As a Senior Regional Sales Manager, you’ll own the strategy and execution of sales activities across your region, working with a high level of autonomy while staying closely connected to customers and key stakeholders. You’ll maximize product mix, drive profitability, and serve as a trusted partner across your accounts through strong market knowledge and effective price negotiations.
In this role, you’ll lead, coach, and develop a high performing sales team, fostering a collaborative culture that fuels growth. You’ll also work cross functionally with operations, marketing, and sales support teams to align strategies, strengthen execution, and achieve shared business goals.
The salary range for this position is $97,000 - $145,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). PrincipalEssential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the segment mix of key items relevant to the customer base, providing weekly/monthly reporting on account-based gross margin by products and accounts.
- Submit timely orders to distribution and product coordinators for all retail products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, negotiating pricing to drive sales and profit.
- Ensure a minimum number of daily pricing errors attributed to sales efforts, in line with established goals.
- Identify and modify customer credit requirements as market conditions dictate.
- Manage and negotiate committed volumes with accounts according to forecast guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with Field Marketing and Merchandising teams, addressing mixed and gross margin concerns, customer issues, and growth opportunities.
- Maintain a personal education plan and participate in training and development as needed.
- Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and effectiveness in sales operations.
- Monitor cash sales, landfill, and donation volumes at assigned distribution centers to meet department goals.
- Provide directions to direct reports, whether solid line or dotted line.
- Foster teamwork and cross-functional collaboration with operations, marketing, and other sales support functions to ensure cohesive strategies and execution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration.
- 4 - 5 years related experience, or in the absence of a bachelor’s degree total experience or 10+ years.
- Strong reading, writing, analytical, and communication skills are required.
- Must have good computer skills and a working knowledge of interfacing with SAP order entry systems.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.
- Must be able to travel to plant facilities and market areas to include overnight travel.
- Previous experience in a similar role or industry.
