Hynes & Associates is looking for an assistant testing manager/senior engineering technician to perform field inspections and office duties, including supervision of employees, reporting, training, and scheduling. The role requires lifting up to 80 pounds, excellent communication and time management skills, and covers job sites in Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.

• Conduct field observations, sampling and testing of construction materials.
• Prepare daily reports, sketches, data sheets and weekly project reporting.
• Attend project and safety meetings.
• Assist the testing manager with department operations and interact with owner and contractor teams.
• Perform routine to complex inspections and testing of construction materials (soils, aggregate, mortar, grout, and concrete).
• Become an American Concrete Institute certified field testing technician.
• Lifting or moving up to 60–80 lb of soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, etc.

• 1–3 years of relevant experience with supervisory experience is preferred.
• A four‑year degree in management, construction management, or engineering is preferred.
• Strong initiative and math skills.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

• 8‑hour shift, Monday to Friday.
• Overtime required.
• Weekends as needed.
