College Lecturer
Wor‑Wic Community College invites applications for part‑time credit faculty to teach trades‑related courses in our Occupational and Emerging Technologies Division. Part‑time instructors will support students in courses such as building maintenance, electrical maintenance, HVAC, mechanical maintenance, plumbing/pipe fitting, renewable energy technology, and welding.
Responsibilities- Creates and manages an environment conducive to the student’s learning of credit course material.
- Prepares and uses course syllabi and recommends appropriate textbooks.
- Meets all scheduled learning experiences, including the final examination.
- Maintains student records.
- Submits copies of course syllabi, tests, and the telephone number and hours of contact.
- Submits attendance rosters, midterm grades, final grades and other information to the vice president for enrollment management and student services within the established timeframe each semester.
- Conducts assigned classes in accordance with the catalog descriptions and the stipulations of the department and the college.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the department head.
- At least an associate degree in an applicable field, or a combination of formal training and five or more years of relevant work experience.
- Relevant licenses and/or certifications.
- Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate prior teaching experience.
Part‑time credit faculty positions are not eligible for a benefits package. Faculty rank is assigned by the vice president for academic affairs, and pay is dependent on the faculty rank and course(s) assigned.
