Position: Career Coach (Grant-Funded)
Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a full-time career coach to assess students' needs through interviews and vocational assessments, develop individual service strategies, assist clients in establishing self-sufficiency goals, and track competitive integrated employment (CIE) outcomes. This position is grant-funded.

The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position.

* Assesses students' needs through interviews and vocational assessments, and refers students as needed to the appropriate human services agencies including Vocational Rehabilitation, Department of Social Services, local and regional mental health associations, employment institutions and the health department

* Continuously engages with local employers and workforce partners to identify current job openings, monitor trends in workforce needs and gather up-to-date information regarding wages and rates of pay to better support participant employment opportunities

* Works in collaboration with internal and external partners, including the board of education and community agencies, to develop and offer programming and training for students, faculty and staff regarding mental health, wellness and other topics

* Maintains accurate records and documentation and coordinates eligibility and intake processes

* Collaborates with other staff members to plan and coordinate college outreach, programs and events, including but not limited to career coaching/advising, job search workshops with high school students, job fairs, career programs and employer panels

* Assists with promoting workforce development programs to residents and organizations and tracks competitive integrated employment (CIE) outcomes for participants

* Stays informed of local labor market trends and employment opportunities and conducts classroom and online career development workshops

* Works with Career Services as needed to administer and interpret career interest, values and personality inventories and other computerized software guidance programs

* Performs other duties as assigned

* Bachelor's degree

* One year of relevant work experience, preferably in disability services, counseling, social work or other related field

* Experience working with diverse populations

* Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills

* Excellent presentation and workshop facilitation skills

This is a full-time, grant-funded, exempt position with excellent fringe benefits. The starting salary for this position is $60,200 per year, based on grant specifications.
