Wor-Wic Community College continuously accepts applications for part-time mathematics tutors to provide individual and small group tutoring for various courses from pre-algebra to calculus.
The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position.
Responsibilities- Facilitating learning guides to assist students in becoming successful and independent learners
- Increasing and enhancing the mastery of concepts or applications of a specific course of study
- Integrating effective studying and learning strategies to maximize the tutee's potential for academic progress
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics or relevant field
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to relate to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds
- A high level of responsibility, reliability and punctuality
- The ability to follow directions
- The ability to work independently
- Preference will be given to candidates with a background in higher level mathematics classes, including precalculus, statistics and calculus
This is an applicant POOL. Applications will be reviewed, and positions will be filled based on department needs. This is not necessarily a job posting for a currently vacant position.
