Job Description:

Job Summary Primary job duties include teaching six courses per academic year as well as advising and mentoring political science and international studies majors. This position requires a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, to maintaining an active research agenda, and to service and community outreach. This is a one-year appointment with opportunity for renewal.

Authority and Accountability This position reports to the Chair of the Political Science Department and has no direct reports or budget authorization responsibility.

Required/Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in Political Science (ABD near completion will be considered)
Undergraduate teaching experience

Demonstrated expertise in the comparative politics and international relations of the Middle East and North Africa

Preferred Qualifications Ability to teach lower-level American politics courses and a research methods course.

Ability to teach courses with a thematic focus on gender politics, ethnic politics, international political economy, international law, normative political theory, and/or environmental politics.

Experience with high-impact teaching practices and with program leadership.

The position is a Contingent II, full-time, exempt position
