Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the City Planner, the Associate Planner is responsible for managing submissions for private developments, and will track them through construction and warranty to ensure a streamlined process and optimal development for the City. This is the primary responsibility of this role.
The Associate Planner will also monitor development metrics and prepare related reports.
The position will coordinate with Engineering, Survey, Buildings, Inspections, and City Administration. Candidate will be required to present to Planning Commission, Historic Commission, Board of Appeals and City Council and will also manage City Committees.
The Associate Planner will perform planning reviews, apply for and administer grants for City improvements, manage City projects, support development of and updates to City master plans, utilize GIS, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Position requirements EducationBachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
ExperienceOne year experience working in planning, project management, or related fields preferred.
Requirements/CertificationsValid driver’s license.
