What You Will Do
At Independent Software, as an Intrusion Analyst Level 3, you will support mission‑critical cybersecurity operations by analyzing digital network data to identify, assess, and respond to unauthorized or malicious activity. In this role, you will leverage SIGINT and computer network defense resources to detect threats, understand adversary behavior, and help protect critical systems and data.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze digital network data to identify malicious or unauthorized activity using SIGINT and computer network defense resources
- Evaluate metadata from communications systems to identify, locate, and track targets and support intelligence reporting
- Categorize network traffic as benign, suspicious, or malicious
- Identify and document adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
- Support development and implementation of mitigation strategies to protect systems and networks
- Conduct network‑based and/or host‑based intrusion analysis
- Correlate data from multiple sources to support threat detection and response
- Prepare analytical reports and provide actionable intelligence to
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and intelligence teams to support mission objectives
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience analyzing network traffic and identifying malicious activity in a cybersecurity or intelligence environment
- Experience using SIGINT and/or computer network defense tools and methodologies
- Understanding of network protocols, traffic analysis, and intrusion detection techniques
- Experience with metadata analysis and target identification
- Familiarity with malware analysis concepts and threat actor behavior
- Programming experience in one or more languages such as C, C#, C++, Java, Perl, or Python is preferred
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to clearly document findings and communicate technical information
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline and six (6) years of relevant experience; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and eight (8) years of relevant experience; OR
- Associate’s degree in a related discipline and ten (10) years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience must be in intrusion analysis, network defense, malware analysis, or a related cybersecurity field
- One of the following certifications is required:
- CEH
- Security+
- Network+
- GIAC GREM
- CREA
Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
