The President and CEO of Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore (JAES) serves as the organization’s visionary leader, spokesperson, and key advocate. This role involves fostering strategic workforce development and educational partnerships while ensuring JAES operates as an inclusive organization that prioritizes diversity, equity, and transparency. The President and CEO works closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders to strengthen relationships and advance JAES’s mission.
The President and CEO leads all aspects of JAES including but not limited to strategic planning and operational management, fundraising, public relations, and program development.
- Develop, implement, oversee and measure strategic plans and goals for JAES.
- Create a long‑term strategy and vision for growth, sustainability, innovation and community engagement.
- Manage strategic objectives, in alignment with JAES and JA USA mission, vision, and guiding principles.
- Provide an overall framework for the design, support and implementation of department initiatives.
- Establish and monitor performance standards and principles of JAES work.
- Initiate research intended to lead to the development of new programs and services.
- Represent JAES in regional and local conversations around financial education, workforce development and entrepreneurship allowing JAES to respond to, develop and create new program initiatives to support.
- Nurture a strong working relationship with the Board of Directors in financial, programmatic, service, and performance activities of the organization by encouraging all board members to participate in meaningful activities that support JAES mission and vision.
- Convene Board and Executive Committee meetings by drafting agendas and briefing materials for Board members.
- Provide management support to the Board of Directors for engagement, recruitment, development and recognition, governance and by‑laws.
- Provide executive support to various Board Committees.
- Build board support for continuing programs and new initiatives by pursuing and evaluating new potential partnerships to further the organization’s mission and vision.
- Guide strategic planning with the Board, staff, and stakeholders to ensure effective design, implementation, and evaluation of programs and initiatives.
- Serve as the chief spokesperson and public face for JAES and represents at relevant events and meetings.
- Support the marketing strategies and implementation to promote JAES to stakeholders/partners.
