Test and Evaluation Laboratory Technician (Mid-Level or Senior)

Location: Patuxent River, MD (with extended travel to St. Louis, MO and Lakehurst, NJ for domestic temporary assignments)
Responsibilities- Plan, conduct, and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Design, fabricate, build, and analyze test systems, materials, components, software, and methodologies.
- Coordinate test requirements, determine test methods and capabilities.
- Support IOE (Instrumentation Operations Engineer) in pre‑test check‑outs to ensure required instrumentation is installed, configured, and operating properly.
- Support staging and check‑out of equipment required for check‑outs.
- Conduct system test preparations by coordinating system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout, and teardown.
- Conduct post‑test activities to ensure all data recording media is removed, marked, logged, and delivered to appropriate facility or personnel.
- Troubleshoot and resolve laboratory and test‑related problems.
- Conduct tests, analyze data, document results, and participate in test readiness reviews.
- Coordinate test laboratory activities, maintenance, and repairs.
- Coach and train others while working under general direction.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance as required by the U.S. Government (U.S. Citizenship required).
- 3+ years of experience interpreting electrical engineering drawings, schematics, and definitions.
- 3+ years of experience with various types of sensors and instrumentation including strain gauges, temperature/pressure measurement devices, accelerometers, and deflection transducers.
- Experience inspecting, fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses or any variety of electrical components and associated equipment.
- 5 or more years of related work experience (Level4) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required; clearance active within the past 24months).
- Extensive experience in installation and check‑out of strain gauges, pressure transducers, accelerometers, fuel flow meters, and thermocouple/RTD sensors.
- Experience troubleshooting signal conditioning equipment and configuring multiple sensor types for program requirements.
- Background mentoring or training lower‑level technicians while working under minimal direction.
This role is primarily first shift; however, additional shift requirements may arise to support program objectives.
Pay & BenefitsSummary pay ranges:
Mid‑level (Level3) $68,000–$92,000;
Senior Level (Level4) $80,750–$109,250.
