DEM Elevating Equipment is looking for a dedicated Machine Operator to join our production team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with machinery, ensuring precision in manufacturing, and contributing to high-quality production. Essential Functions- Set up and operate drill press machines to drill, tap, ream, or countersink metal and other materials.
- Operate hydraulic punch machines to cut, shape, and punch metal parts.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine production requirements.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and fixtures based on job specifications.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and required tolerances.
- Use calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools for accuracy checks.
- Adjust machine settings, including speed and feed rates, for optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting on machines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Assist in other areas as needed to support production goals.
- Education:
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required. - Experience:
Previous machining or related experience is preferred; on-the-job training will be provided. - Computer
Skills:
Microsoft Office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, operation, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and manufacturing methods used to maximize efficiency and product quality.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
