This is a full-time ACC Ameri Corps position with Village of Hope.
The American Connection Corps (ACC), an Ameri Corps program of Lead For America (LFA), is a service fellowship program aimed at helping communities build the digital connectivity necessary to expand opportunity and economic mobility, ranging from healthcare access to quality employment.
ACC Members spend a year serving with locally-rooted organizations, helping address the digital divide and strengthen access to opportunity. Through their service, they gain hands-on experience, build in-demand skills, and explore career pathways while making a tangible impact in their communities.
About City Of Village Of HopeVillage of Hope is a nonprofit, non-denominational 501(c)(3) organization that provides a Transitional Living Program for women and children at risk of homelessness and financial instability. Our work is rooted in compassion, dignity, and the unwavering belief that hope—when nurtured—has the power to transform lives.
We serve families across Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties who are navigating homelessness, domestic violence, and financial hardship. Through safe housing, compassionate support, and practical resources, we help women and their children move from crisis toward stability, well-being, and long-term independence.
Position OverviewAmeri Corps member will assist program staff with a variety of service activities that support the efficient and effective delivery of programs and services to program participants and community members.
All activities performed by the Ameri Corps Member will occur under staff supervision and within the approved Ameri Corps position description and program scope. The Member serves in a direct service and capacity-building role and may not independently manage programs, supervise staff or contractors, determine eligibility, engage in fundraising or grant writing leadership, or perform duties that duplicate, displace, or supplant employees or contractors.
Key Responsibilities- Greeting and directing program participants, volunteers, and community members
- Attend planning meetings and community events to support program implementation and member service activities
- Assist with the Empowering Children Project by supporting program activities, participant engagement, and event preparation
- Research community resources and potential partnership opportunities to support program activities
- Assist with the planning, preparation, and facilitation of educational workshops and community outreach activities
- Prepare materials, supplies, and resources for community engagement events

Learning & Development OpportunitiesAs an ACC Member, you will receive structured training and support throughout your service year, including:
- A two-week-long virtual orientation with the national cohort to kick off the service year
- A week-long, in-person national Winter Institute convening with your ACC cohort - travel, lodging, and a per diem stipend are fully covered.
- Twice-monthly virtual training on skills for service, including project management, asset-based community development, grant writing, and serving vulnerable populations, plus self-paced curricula with opportunities to earn badges and credentials
- A structured community listening tour at the start of service to understand local needs, assets, and opportunities
- Dedicated 1:1 support from a Lead For America Program Coordinator and twice-monthly peer pod meetings for networking and professional development
- Access to a national network of ACC Members, alumni, and community partners
