Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN)

Direct Hire | Full-Time | Multiple Shifts Available

A high-performing, community-focused healthcare organization in the coastal Maryland/Delaware region is seeking a Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN) to join its inpatient nursing team. This permanent, full-time opportunity supports patients who require continuous monitoring and higher-acuity care than medical-surgical or telemetry units, but who do not meet ICU-level criteria.

The PCU RN delivers advanced patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while practicing in accordance with ANA Standards and the Nursing Process.

POSITION OVERVIEW
  • Permanent, full-time role
  • Progressive Care / Stepdown Unit
  • Continuous cardiac and physiologic monitoring
  • Higher-acuity patient population
  • Team-oriented, supportive clinical environment
SHIFT DETAILS
  • Day, evening, night, or rotating shifts per departmental policy
  • Weekend coverage required based on unit needs
  • Scheduled off at least three holidays per year
  • Occasional overtime may be required
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with actual or potential acute care needs
  • Continuously monitor patient status and respond to changes promptly
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
  • Act as a patient advocate and provide education to patients and families
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
  • Utilize clinical equipment and technology competently
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes
REQUIREMENTS
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of permanent residency
  • American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
  • ACLS to be obtained within 12 months of employment
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification obtained during orientation
