REGISTERED NURSE (RN) – INTERMEDIATE CARE (IMC)

Location: Tidal Health
Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Shift: 12-Hour Nights | 7:00 PM Start | Rotating Weekends

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Intermediate Care (IMC) Registered Nurse provides high-acuity nursing care to patients who require a higher level of monitoring than a medical/surgical unit but do not meet ICU criteria. This fast-paced, team-driven unit cares for critically ill patients requiring continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring, rapid clinical intervention, and advanced nursing judgment.

The IMC RN develops, implements, and evaluates individualized plans of care while serving as a patient advocate and educator for patients and families.

SHIFT DETAILS
  • Full-time, 12-hour night shifts
  • 7:00 PM start
  • Rotating weekends required
  • Shifts may include days, evenings, or nights per departmental policy
  • Occasional overtime based on unit needs
COMPENSATION & INCENTIVES
  • Competitive hourly pay: $33.00 – $52.80/hour
  • Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus
  • Up to $2,500 relocation reimbursement

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide high-acuity nursing care in the Intermediate Care Unit
  • Manage patients with conditions including:
    • Sepsis
    • Diabetic keto acidosis (DKA)
    • Post open-heart and cardiac procedures
    • Continuous cardiac infusions
    • Acute non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP)
  • Continuously monitor cardiac and respiratory status
  • Rapidly assess and respond to changes in hemodynamics or respiratory demands
  • Develop and evaluate individualized plans of care
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with clinical standards
REQUIREMENTS
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Must hold licensure in the state of permanent residency
  • American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required or ability to obtain prior to hire
