Job Description
Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., is looking for a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. The specialist reports to the Plasma Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) and works under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical matters. Responsibilities include donor eligibility assessment, management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory test results, donor notification of unsuitable results, and support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) guidelines as directed by Bio Life Medical Affairs.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, provide AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, conduct medical history interviews and acceptance requirements, perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and apply SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues to ensure donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents, determine need for evaluation by occupational health/ER, and reference EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate‑level recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities are assigned:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Successfully complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

U.S. hourly wage range: $35.20 – $48.40. The exact hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. U.S. based employees may receive short‑term incentives and may participate in medical, dental, vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; short‑term and long‑term disability coverage; basic life insurance; tuition reimbursement; paid volunteer time off; company holidays; and well‑being benefits. Employees may accrue up to 80 hours of sick time and up to 120 hours of paid vacation per calendar year.
