Industrial Plumber

Join our shipbuilding team as an Industrial Plumber and help build world-class cruise ships! This position is responsible for the fabrication and installation of marine piping and hydraulic systems in a dynamic shipyard environment. We are seeking motivated individuals with piping and fitting experience who are committed to safety, quality craftsmanship, and teamwork.

About the Job:
This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position.

Shift:

  • Monday – Friday
  • Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
  • Overtime and Weekend required based on business needs

Major Responsibilities:
Safely and efficiently perform plumbing labor to complete construction associated with building cruise ships. Have an aggressive work ethic with a focus on production.

Reports To:

Plumbing Supervisor/On-Site Foreman/Shipyard Superintendent

Essential Functions/Tasks:

  • Perform layout, fabrication, and installation of piping systems.
  • Assemble, install, repair, and maintain marine piping, hydraulic, and plumbing systems.
  • Fabricate, fit, and repair marine piping systems and related components.
  • Operate hand-held power tools, pneumatic tools, and manual tools safely and effectively.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, specifications, and templates.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and lead personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Knowledge:

  • Experience with marine or industrial piping systems, fitting, and installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications, and templates.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery required for the job.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • All types of physical movement are required for this position to successfully perform the essential functions.
  • Ability to use upper and lower extremities.
  • Ability to work outside in heat, inclement weather, and cold.
  • Ability to crawl, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend around and under equipment, on ladders up to 24' at heights up to 70', stairs, scaffolds, through small accesses, enter inside of tanks, and confined spaces, through hatches, and manholes throughout much of the work shift.
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work over bodies of water.
  • Ability to traverse uneven terrain, including loose pack gravel.

Mental Requirements:
Normal level of visual acuity needed. Must be able to understand and follow directions. Normal hearing level needed. Hand-eye coordination required.

Hazards:
Weather, fumes, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, equipment, and vibration.
