The Corrections Maintenance Tech works under the direction of the Facility Maintenance Manager and is responsible for general maintenance of the Wicomico County Department of Corrections buildings. This individual will perform a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, construction, maintenance, modification, and repair activities as required. The majority of the work performed is in a secure correctional environment with and around inmates.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED; 5 years of skilled trade/maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- A technician with working knowledge of locksmith, HVAC, and/or refrigeration with Universal Tech EPA card is preferred
- College level course work to obtain job‑related licenses and certifications is desirable
- Valid driver’s license
- Required to complete Correctional Academy for Support Personnel
- Must pass a Psychological Exam and Medical Physical
