Laborer Position
This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position. It reports to the Facilities Supervisor/On-Site Foreman/Shipyard Superintendent.
Major responsibilities include maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient construction site while supporting the overall project.
Essential functions/tasks:
- Clean and prepare construction sites, vessels, and buildings.
- Load and unload furniture and material on vessels when assigned.
- Maintain a clear and clean facility.
- Assist skilled tradespeople of all departments and on-site contractors as needed.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and implement construction plans.
- Prepare outdoor areas for various weather conditions (snow/debris removal, ice melt).
- Complete a wide variety of general labor tasks.
- Safe use of all tools and equipment.
- Work independently and with team.
- All other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
Physical requirements include all types of physical movement, ability to use upper and lower extremities, work outside in various weather conditions, ability to crawl, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend around and under equipment, occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds, ability to work over bodies of water, and ability to traverse uneven terrain.
Mental requirements include normal level of visual acuity, ability to understand and follow directions, normal hearing level, and hand-eye coordination.
Hazards include weather, fumes, moving mechanical parts, equipment, and vibration.
Shift: Monday – Friday, 40+ hours, day shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm. Overtime and weekend required based on business needs.
