- Represent ARK Systems by interacting with contractors and customers
- Service fire/security, card access, door entry, paging/sound, and other electronic systems
- Install system wiring as applicable
- Complete associated paperwork according to company requirements
- Perform troubleshooting
- Terminate devices and panel wiring
- Program panels and systems for proper operation according to plans, specifications, and code requirements
- Control truck inventory
- Communicate with ARK team members to pursue company goals for installing and servicing alarm systems
- Explain the importance, operation, and status of life safety systems to customers
- Respond to after-hours service calls as required through the on-call rotation
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Experienced, career-oriented individual in the alarm industry
- Knowledge of NFPA alarm system requirements
- Ability to interpret code books and handbooks
- Customer relations experience and skills
- Ability to obtain a Maryland and Virginia security technician license
- Field electronic practical experience required
- Good communication skills
- Positive and respectful attitude with good working relationships
- Good driving record and insurability through the company’s insurance carrier
- Willingness to achieve various industry certifications
- Proficiency with alarm systems, test equipment, communications equipment, drills, and hand tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PC Anywhere, and system application software
- AA degree in Electronics or equivalent technical school training supplemented with 3–5 years of related industry experience
- Basic computer literacy and system-specific training required
- Industry licenses and certifications required
Demonstrates expertise in alarm system installation and servicing, with a strong understanding of NFPA requirements and the ability to interpret technical codes. Proficient in customer relations and communication, ensuring effective interaction with clients and team members.
