What You’ll Do- Conduct Discovery assessments to identify each person’s strengths, interests, skills, and career goals.
- Develop individualized employment plans using Person-Centered Planning.
- Assist individuals with career exploration and vocational goal setting.
- Provide job readiness training, including:
- Resume development
- Employment applications
- Interview preparation
- Workplace communication
- Professional behavior
- Develop partnerships with local businesses and employers.
- Match individuals with competitive, integrated employment opportunities.
- Provide one‑on‑one job coaching before, during, and after employment.
- Teach workplace skills and promote independence on the job.
- Support employers with disability awareness and workplace accommodations.
- Monitor participant progress and provide ongoing employment retention support.
- Complete documentation that complies with Maryland DDA regulations and agency standards.
- Participate in Person-Centered Planning meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Collaborate with families, support coordinators, vocational rehabilitation counselors, employers, and community partners.
- Travel throughout the community to meet participants at homes, workplaces, and community locations.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and agency policies.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation, or a related field preferred. - Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Knowledge of DDA Employment Services, Supported Employment, and Person-Centered Planning is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within the community.
- Ability to pass required background checks.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the community to participant homes, workplaces, and community locations.
- Ability to support individuals in various employment and community settings.
