Senior AWS Connect Developer
Leidos is seeking a Senior AWS Connect Developer to lead the design, development, and deployment of AWS Connect solutions, supporting the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) customer support and assistance service center. The position requires fluency in AWS Connect development principles and the ability to work with stakeholders to deliver enterprise‑grade business solutions.
Must be willing to work on‑site in Woodlawn, MD, five days a week.
Core Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement AWS Connect processes – including application integration, form handling, workflow, policies, actions, access controls, interfaces, and all other configurations needed for client processes.
- Provide recommendations for enhancing existing operations and for new updates or modifications.
- Support and extend current processes based on new requirements or upgrades.
- Facilitate requirements gathering, review, and documentation.
- Design and develop solutions within the Service Now environment.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned or directed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field (or an equal combination of education and experience). Minimum 8 years of experience.
- Minimum 7 years of experience with large enterprise frameworks.
- Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience working with the AWS Cloud platform.
- Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with Amazon Connect.
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing with Node.js, Python, or Java.
- Minimum 3 years of experience designing call routing and messaging solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (contract requirement).
- Solid AWS Cloud and AWS Connect development experience.
- Extensive knowledge of IVR, Automatic Call Distribution (ACD), skill‑based routing, and live chat.
- Experience with process flow documentation creation.
- Hands‑on experience with Lambda, Lex Conversational Bots/NLP, Kinesis Streams, Glue, VPC, SNS, App Sync, Event Bridge, Kinesis Firehouse, Dynamo
DB Streams, Service Catalog, Kinesis Data Analytics, and related services. - Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proven track record delivering technology solutions in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven enterprise setting.
- Strong understanding of change management, testing requirements, techniques, and tools to ensure high availability of systems.
- Prior federal government experience.
- Self‑starter, highly motivated individual who adapts to a dynamic work environment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
