Delivery Driver - CDL​/Hazmat

Job Description

This position is responsible for delivering products, including hazardous materials, to customers from Sherwin‑Williams stores using box and flat‑bed trucks. Drivers ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. Drivers are accountable for customer satisfaction and for transporting items in a safe, timely manner. The role may involve contact with customers, including minors; and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value.

The company requires a criminal history review to protect safety and reputation. The candidate will work at stores within a 25‑mile radius of store #705938 at 1211 Mt. Hermon Road, Salisbury, MD 21804.

• Ensure deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements efficiently.
• Load customer orders properly onto the truck.
• Complete all necessary forms.
• Transport and deliver items safely and on time.
• Maintain the store vehicle and notify supervisors of repair or servicing needs.
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints.
• Adhere to assigned routes and schedules.
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
• Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
• Operate equipment and machines such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Perform additional store tasks, including warehouse duties, tinting, and mixing customer orders.

• At least 21 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without requiring sponsorship.
• Valid, unrestricted Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with hazardous materials endorsement.
• Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) from a DOT‑licensed medical examiner, or willing to obtain one within five business days of a conditional offer.
• Physically able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
• Willing to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Read and speak English sufficiently for customer communication and official record entry.

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience as a delivery driver.
• At least one year of experience using material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
• Previous experience selling paint and paint‑related products.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
• Spanish language proficiency.
