Rigger Apprenticeship Trainee Program

MEI moves heavy, expensive, and often highly sensitive equipment in construction and operating facility environments. The Rigging Apprenticeship Program teaches core rigging skills for individuals without rigging knowledge to start a career as a skilled Rigger with opportunities to advance through targeted skills development and training oversight. Courses include hands-on training, activities, and assessments in lab or field environments. Upon completing the multi-phase program, participants gain the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform in various Machinery Moving/Rigging positions.

Physical Requirements &

Working Conditions:

Performing general physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials up to 50 pounds. Willingness to work in an outdoor environment year-round.

  • All candidates must complete pre-employment contingencies upon accepting an offer with MEI that includes a 5-panel drug test and a Criminal Background Check.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Committed to learning and willing to complete all assignments, tasks, and assessments required by the program, including pre-work and homework before or after related studies
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken). Training materials, assignments and assessments are provided in English
  • Available for in-person attendance at six, bi-monthly, 3-day seminars beginning in July 2026 (air travel if applicable)
  • Willing and able to travel to training, if applicable
