Staff Accountant

Overview

The Staff Accountant will support the organization’s accounting and financial reporting functions, with primary responsibility for financial statement support, journal entries, and account reconciliations. This role will also assist with accounts payable activities and bank reconciliations. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation and the ability to work efficiently in a Sage accounting environment.

• Prepare and post journal entries in Sage in support of month-end and year-end close.
• Perform balance sheet, bank, and general ledger reconciliations; research and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation and support of monthly financial statements.
• Review and analyze general ledger and P&L accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding, and entry in Sage.
• Assist with cash and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Two to four years of relevant accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of Sage (Sage 50, Sage Intacct, or similar) strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Team-oriented professional with strong communication skills.

$70,000 per year
