The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community.

Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!
** Description of Work
** Salary range: $31,200.00-$51,249.00    This is a position at Piedmont Correctional Institution located in Salisbury, N.C. (Rowan County),    which is a Medium male prison facility housing 800 offenders.
Duties include, but are not limited to:

· Answering high volume phone calls, to include external and internal calls and being able to    answer questions from external callers or be able to forward the call to the correct staff member.

· Complete various data entry as assigned by the Warden and/or Administrative Officer    
· Performing clerical duties for Administrative Officer    
· Assisting with time entry    
· Navigating OPUS regarding offender records and assisting with preparations for audits and    inspections    
· Assisting administrative staff as needed
