Position Title
Testing Center Specialist (PT)
Position SummaryReporting to the Director of Admissions, Assessment, and Credit for Prior Learning, the Testing Center Specialist will provide professional, consistent, and secure testing services to Rowan-Cabarrus Community College students, as well as to individuals in the community. The Testing Center Specialist must be able to work in collaboration with faculty, staff, administration, and vendors in order to provide efficient services to students and community members.
The hours for this position are part-time, approximately 25 hours per week, and varied. The Testing Center Specialist will need to be flexible, with the ability to work morning, afternoon, evening, and rotating Saturday shifts.
This position is primarily located at our North Campus; however, must be willing to travel to other campus locations when needed.
Salary$17.54 - $20.17 hourly
Required Education/Experience- Associate’s degree in a related field and three (3) years of experience of teaching, training, counseling, or testing; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
- Pearson VUE certification preferred;
Experience with administration of placement testing preferred;
Experience with online appointment scheduling preferred.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all student and/or community member testing matters.
- Ability to work well both independently and with a team.
- Administers, scores, and records the results of a variety of testing instruments including entrance and placement exams, career and vocational assessments, and/or related tests.
- Provides customer service to new, former, and current students, which includes: assisting students with testing sign up; making accommodation arrangements; monitoring testing rooms for misconduct; and/or performing related activities.
- Performs a variety of administrative support activities in support of testing center operations, which includes: updating files and databases; scheduling testing appointments; responding to testing inquiries; answering telephones; and/or performing related activities.
- Prepares a variety of records and reports related to student testing activities.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
