Role DescriptionThe Construction Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Salisbury, NC, responsible for overseeing daily field operations on active construction projects. This position coordinates subcontractors and site personnel, manages the construction schedule, and ensures work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. The superintendent monitors job progress, conducts regular site inspections, and enforces safety and quality standards. Daily tasks include reviewing plans and specifications, resolving on-site issues, communicating with project managers and stakeholders, and maintaining accurate documentation such as logs, reports, and updates.
The role also involves leading site meetings, supporting inspections, and fostering a professional, respectful work environment.
- Strong Construction Site Management skills, including supervising crews, coordinating subcontractors, and overseeing day-to-day field operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Construction Safety practices, with the ability to enforce safety policies, conduct toolbox talks, and comply with relevant regulations.
- Solid Project Management and Budgeting abilities to maintain schedules, track costs, and support delivery of projects within scope and financial targets.
- Excellent Organization Skills, including maintaining site documentation, managing multiple tasks, and prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar leadership role on commercial or residential projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to work collaboratively with owners, architects, engineers, and field staff.
- Proficiency with basic computer tools and construction-related software for reporting, scheduling, and documentation.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Relevant technical training or education in construction management or a related field is preferred.
