School Counselor

Starting Date: Aug 3, 2026

Purpose: To help all students develop skills in the areas of person‑social growth, educational planning, and career and vocational development.

• Completion of an approved program in school counseling at the master’s level or above
• Completion of Praxis (School Guidance and Counseling)
• A Counselor’s license

• Program Planning – The school counselor establishes the school counseling program and develops activities and resources to implement and evaluate the program. The school counselor involves other staff in making decisions about the program.
• Counseling – Provide individual and group counseling services to meet developmental, preventive and remedial needs.
• Consulting – Consult with students, parents, teachers, and other school community personnel to assist in meeting student needs.
• Coordinating – Coordinate all counseling services for students and assist with the coordination and implementation of student services; assist teachers with the guidance curriculum.
• Student Appraisal – Accurately interpret test results and other student data; assist teachers with educational placement using appropriate assessment strategies.
• Professional Practices and Development – Adhere to ethical standards, abide by laws and procedures that govern schools; participate in professional associations and upgrade professional knowledge and skills.
• Subject to all other duties as assigned by the principal.

Full‑Time

$4,610 to $6,255 Per Year
