Academic Advisor for Athletics

The Academic Advisor for Athletics provides comprehensive academic support and guidance to student-athletes to promote academic success, retention, eligibility, and graduation. Monitors academic progress, assists with course selection and degree planning, coordinates tutoring and academic support services, and serves as a liaison between student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and campus departments. Ensures compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA academic requirements while fostering personal growth, accountability, and achievement among student-athletes.

• Advise and support student-athletes in academic planning, degree progression, and course selection.
• Monitor academic eligibility requirements in accordance with NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations.
• Conduct regular academic progress reviews and maintain accurate academic records for student-athletes.
• Develop individualized academic success plans for at-risk student athletes.
• Coordinate tutoring, mentoring, study hall, and academic support services. Serve as a liaison between student-athletes, coaches, faculty, registrar, financial aid, etc.
• Collaborate with the Compliance Office to ensure student-athlete eligibility certifications are accurate and timely.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you will need to be successful!

• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in one of the following areas:
  Higher Education Administration, Sports Management, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership & Counseling.
• Academic advising experience in higher education
• Experience working with student athletes
• Knowledge of NCAA, Conference, and institutional academic eligibility requirements.
