** Job Description
** We are seeking a
** Controls Engineer
** for our
** Salisbury, North Carolina Plant.
**** Functions and Responsibilities:
*** Recommend equipment improvements and/or manufacturing methods that would result in improved quality or greater efficiency.
* Coordinate all mechanical / electrical system modifications with external vendors, maintenance personnel and Facility Engineering Manager in regard to automation control.
* Organize and maintain all system documentation (mechanical/electrical prints, software documentation and backups, path problems, robot configurations and parameters and configuration parameters).
* Outline and maintain maintenance practices for automated systems and programs.
* Design and implement software, electrical and mechanical automated systems from concept to full development and production launch.
* Support and assist maintenance personnel with diagnosing software and electrical system problems.
* Support Multiple PLC and electrical controlled automated systems.
* Design, implement and support all human machine interface (HMI) hardware and software for automated systems.
* Apply electrical and electronic theory and related knowledge to design, build, repair, calibrate, and/or modify electrical components, circuitry, controls and machinery.
* Review equipment for electrical and electronic controls and recommend action to implement.
* Assist in upgrading equipment.
* Develop control-wiring schematics and maintain files.
* Maintain all electrical and electrical upgrades on software and in hard copy in an orderly manner.
* Maintain back-up files for all PLC and Robotic programs in an orderly manner.
* Create documentation for production support and data collection.
* Recommend stock items and quantities for equipment spare parts and production materials.
* Recommend preventative maintenance items and schedules for equipment.

* Qualifications:

*** Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
* At least five years of experience in the practical application of engineering technologies to manufacturing processes with emphasis on automation, programming, vision systems, and control systems.
* Trouble-shoot and program robotics, PLC’s, and electronics with automated equipment or machinery.
* Experienced in an engineering field within a manufacturing environment.
* Competence with PLCs, including programming.
* Competence in personal computer Windows applications including  Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and AutoCAD.
* Technical leadership.
