Distribution Zone​/Revenue Engineering Technologist - Level I or II

Overview

The Engineering Technologist positions at Duke Energy provide non-engineer degreed technical support roles within the company’s technical and research teams. Positions may be filled as Engineering Technologist I or, based on the candidate’s experience, one level higher as Engineering Technologist II.

• Apply technical expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve problems in the area of expertise.
• Ensure attainment of business goals through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
• Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
• Conduct engineering and related studies.
• Continuously improve job‑related, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
• Develop positive working relationships to coordinate work activities effectively.
• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintain accurate records and files.
• Support company goals and represent the company positively and professionally.

• Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with no experience, or 2+ years equivalent industry experience without a degree.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology with no experience, or
• 2+ years of experience with an Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or
• 4+ years of equivalent experience without a degree.

• Hybrid – Employees may work remotely or from the office.
