Overview
The Engineering Technologist positions at Duke Energy provide non-engineer degreed technical support roles within the company’s technical and research teams. Positions may be filled as Engineering Technologist I or, based on the candidate’s experience, one level higher as Engineering Technologist II.
Responsibilities- Apply technical expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve problems in the area of expertise.
- Ensure attainment of business goals through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
- Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
- Conduct engineering and related studies.
- Continuously improve job‑related, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
- Develop positive working relationships to coordinate work activities effectively.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain accurate records and files.
- Support company goals and represent the company positively and professionally.
- Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with no experience, or 2+ years equivalent industry experience without a degree.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology with no experience, or
- 2+ years of experience with an Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or
- 4+ years of equivalent experience without a degree.
- Hybrid – Employees may work remotely or from the office.
