Supplier Quality Engineer

This requisition is to support a new factory startup in Prince George, VA manufacturing large form‑factor equipment. The product will be large (shipping container size), heavy (50+ tons), and complex.

• Serve as the focal person for commodity related quality and functional issues that stem from components being purchased for manufacturing.
• Ensure that all production critical supplier issues are resolved in a timely manner, and corrective actions are implemented correctly.
• Serve as the point of contact for Inspection Plans and Inspection Methods, and provide guidance to Receiving Inspection Auditors.
• Ensure ongoing site supplier evaluation is performed using data from Receiving Inspection, MRB, Customer Returns, SCAR database, and liaison efforts with customer work cells.
• Report performance internally, to suppliers, and to customers where applicable.
• Perform supplier audit interfacing with Corporate SQE if applicable.
• Provide documentation to perform Inspection of components per Inspection Plans in SAP.
• Monitor and drive PPM issues with the supply base and help them achieve “Dock to Stock” certified with Jabil.
• Drive supplier selection strategies that yield a base usable across all customer programs, providing cost savings.
• Proactively communicate information or issues that may impact product costs or manufacturability to all affected departments.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and security regulations and procedures.

• Bachelor's degree required
  ; bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or the business community.
• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
• Mathematical skills: calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
• Statistical inference skills and ability to use probability and related concepts.
• Reasoning ability: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.
