Responsibilities- Administer construction contracts through inspection and, when needed, stakeout activities.
- Serve as lead project inspector on small to intermediate‑sized projects.
- Perform standardized and non‑standardized tests of construction materials in accordance with contract documents and specifications.
- Assist in supervising lower‑level technicians and CEI personnel and help coordinate work assignments.
- Maintain record‑keeping systems, including writing project diaries, reports, material and pay records, and construction calculations.
- Enter data and reports on computer or iPad.
- Adhere to safety philosophy and program requirements in all operations.
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or related curriculum, plus two (2) years of progressive technician‑level experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with iPads/tablets, HiCAMS, Share Plus/SharePoint.
- Advanced working knowledge of mathematical functions (algebra, geometry, trigonometry).
- Ability to obtain and maintain certifications required for material sampling and testing.
- Physical capability to perform moderate activity, including walking, climbing, kneeling, standing, and lifting up to 50lb.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by project workload.
- Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle; safety‑toed shoes required.
$41,206 – $72,113 annually (NC09)
