Location:
On-site at our Prince George, VA facility. The role supports a new factory startup manufacturing large form‑factor equipment.
- Manage manufacturing (ME) and industrial (IE) engineering activities focused on key operational metrics for large‑factor assembly manufacturing.
- Lead and manage engineering projects related to the new factory startup, including equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.
- Design and develop manufacturing systems and procedures covering material storage, flow, hardware assembly, electrical wiring, and full integration.
- Lead the site’s manufacturing infrastructure, layout, and flow for assembly, testing operations and future expansions.
- Develop line layouts, process flow charts, simulation models, staffing models, and manufacturing quotes for existing operations, continuous improvement, and new business opportunities.
- Reduce manufacturing cost by optimizing processes, consolidating tasks, eliminating non‑value‑added steps, and applying best practices.
- Introduce advanced manufacturing processes, including automation, and transfer capabilities to the sustaining manufacturing organization.
- Define, develop, and implement ME and IE strategies supporting overall objectives, business development, and Jabil’s strategic directions.
- Execute ME and IE activities in alignment with Jabil strategies, organizational goals, and technology roadmap.
- Promote Lean Six Sigma principles and create training tools, documents, and procedures for global baseline competency training.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation including engineering specifications, process flows, FMEAs, and work instructions.
- Hire, coach, mentor, train, and retain site ME and IE resources, including succession planning.
- Provide tactical support to resolve critical technical issues and perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
- 7+ years of recent experience in the electronics manufacturing industry, with 5+ years in engineering leadership within a large factory assembly environment.
- Expert knowledge of engineering philosophies and processes.
- Proven expertise in Manufacturing Support Systems and business process analysis.
- Proficient in industrial engineering tools such as work measurement, simulation, process mapping, facilities and workstation design, and operations research.
- Successful track record of change management, continuous improvement, and cost‑reduction programs.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to identify root causes and deliver efficient solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, oral, and written communication skills.
- Experience with project management, team leadership, and operating in a global matrix organization.
- Proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Competitive pay range: $115,500 – $207,900.
