This position will evaluate plant equipment to increase operating reliability. This includes delay analysis, developing repair/upgrade plans, and working with operating departments to address chronic equipment and processing problems. The position will also provide support for plant projects requiring engineering skills.
Responsibilities- Responsible for safety design modifications and improvements to equipment and facilities.
- Support production in the execution and expansion of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Develop, document, and improve preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment availability and throughput.
- Maintain an effective preventative maintenance program. Assist in problem solving for unplanned downtime. Develop and maintain outside resources as needed.
- Develop and maintain a critical spares inventory.
- Prepare and review equipment failure/root cause analysis reports and determine/evaluate corrective actions and their impact on preventive maintenance programs.
- Develop cost justifications for improvement projects and corrective actions.
- Assist Operations Manager with managing capital projects and major maintenance activities.
- Plan and schedule equipment maintenance, replacements, and upgrades with operations.
- Follow and enforce TIMET policies and procedures.
- Support production to meet established goals for safety, quality, and throughput.
- Manage the plant maintenance system, including creating new PMs, issuing work orders, and updating assets.
- Monitor and control maintenance costs.
- Coordinate outside contractor work with maintenance or production personnel to minimize cost and production impacts.
- Oversee development of standard operating procedures for maintenance activities.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement to processes (safety and quality), equipment, and maintenance (maximize reliability and melt time), including data recording and analysis.
- Determine and install performance metrics that promote long-term continuous improvement aligned with department objectives.
- Develop and work to budgets to achieve cost management goals and participate in cost reduction or profit improvement programs.
- Provide support for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and better working relationships.
- Perform process and project engineering duties.
- Minimum bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering from a four-year college or university, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Maintenance engineering or maintenance supervision with 3–5 years of proven experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with personnel at all organizational levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Metals experience is helpful (desired, not required).
- Experience with FMEA and root cause analysis techniques.
- Six Sigma experience is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated project management, facilitation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Solid Works and AutoCAD.
- Relocation is authorized for this position.
- This position may require compliance with export control laws and regulations (ITAR and EAR) related to production processes and access controls.
