Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate recut machinery to cut paper tubes and cores to specified lengths.
Read and interpret work orders, production schedules, and customer specifications.
Measure finished products using tape measures, calipers, or other measuring devices to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Inspect products for quality, appearance, and defects before packaging or shipment.
Make machine adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
Remove scrap material and minimize waste.
Package or stage finished products according to customer requirements.
Perform routine equipment cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
Report equipment malfunctions or quality concerns to the supervisor or maintenance department.
Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience preferred.
Experience in paper tube manufacturing is a plus.
Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations.
Ability to read work orders and production instructions.
Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements Stand for extended periods during the work shift.
Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Frequently bend, stoop, twist, and reach.
Use hands for repetitive grasping and machine operation.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to paper dust, moving machinery, and noise.
Working Conditions Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment.
Moderate to high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
Exposure to paper dust and production materials.
Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
Safety Responsibilities Follow all Company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
Never remove or bypass machine guards or safety devices.
Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures before servicing or cleaning equipment.
Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, and near misses.
Maintain good housekeeping to reduce slip, trip, and fire hazards.
Participate in required safety meetings and training.
Performance Expectations Produce accurate cuts that meet customer specifications.
Maintain established production rates while minimizing scrap.
Consistently produce quality products with minimal defects.
Demonstrate safe work practices and proper equipment operation.
Maintain dependable attendance and work effectively with production team members.
