Adelphi is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners (NPs) for a full-time locum tenens assignment to provide onsite primary care and medical management services at a secure healthcare facility in Granville County, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will deliver routine medical care, manage chronic diseases, and treat acute conditions in a structured, regulated clinical environment.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current, unrestricted North Carolina Nurse Practitioner license
  • National NP certification (ANCC or AANP)
  • DEA registration or ability to obtain prior to start
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
  • Ability to practice within scope of licensure under North Carolina regulations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required institutional credentials and security clearance
  • Successful completion of required background investigations
  • Prior experience in primary care, institutional, or underserved settings preferred
Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive medical evaluations, including intake assessments and follow-up visits
  • Obtain and document relevant medical histories and conduct physical examinations
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions within scope of licensure
  • Manage chronic conditions to support continuity of care
  • Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with scope of practice and regulations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, imaging, and EKGs
  • Provide immunizations and preventive care per clinical guidelines
  • Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and disease prevention
  • Refer patients to supervising physicians or specialists for complex conditions
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record system
  • Comply with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and facility policies
  • Participate in quality improvement and utilization review activities as required
