Overview

Novant Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered nursing care to individuals and families across diverse clinical needs. Working within an interdisciplinary team, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans that promote optimal health outcomes, while demonstrating clinical excellence, sound judgment, and adherence to all regulatory and organizational standards.

Responsibilities

As an RN at Novant Health, you will perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor vital signs and clinical status, administer medications and therapies, and manage IV lines and other clinical interventions in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. You will document all aspects of care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR), ensuring clear communication and continuity of care.

You will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other members of the care team to coordinate treatment, anticipate patient needs, and support smooth transitions of care, including discharge planning and patient education.

You will play a key role in educating patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, self-care strategies, and available resources, using language that is clear, compassionate, and culturally sensitive. In alignment with Novant Health’s commitment to diversity, safety, and personalized care, you will advocate for patient preferences, respect individual backgrounds and beliefs, and contribute to an environment where every person feels heard and valued.

You will follow all infection prevention and safety protocols, participate in quality and process-improvement initiatives, and help identify opportunities to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes.

This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced medical technology and evidence-based practices in a dynamic healthcare setting. You will be encouraged to participate in continuing education, skills development, and professional certification, reflecting Novant Health’s emphasis on innovation, collaboration, and career growth. RNs may work a combination of day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed to support patient care, with potential for a mix of on-site clinical work and limited remote tasks such as documentation or virtual patient follow-up depending on department needs.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates bring strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, a commitment to safety and quality, and a genuine passion for improving the health and well-being of patients and communities. By joining Novant Health, you will be part of a mission-driven organization that prioritizes compassionate care, embraces diversity, and empowers nurses to make a meaningful, lasting impact on patient lives every day.
