Post-Operative Surgical Unit Registered Nurse

Novant Health Rowan Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Post-Operative Surgical Unit! This 17-bed unit provides care for a diverse patient population recovering from trauma, vascular, general surgery, and urology procedures, while also caring for medical overflow patients as needed. Nurses on this unit provide comprehensive post-operative care, including pain management, wound care, mobility progression, patient education, and close monitoring for potential complications to promote safe recovery and positive patient outcomes.

What You'll Do:

• Monitor and assess post-operative patients for changes in condition, including pain levels, vital signs, wound healing, and potential surgical complications.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and pain management treatments while ensuring patient safety and adherence to physician orders.
• Educate and assist patients with post-surgical recovery activities, including mobility, breathing exercises, incision care, medication management, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, responses to treatment, and clinical outcomes while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

What We're Looking For:

• Education:
  
  4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• Experience:
  
  One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
  Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
