Job Summary

This is a travel nursing position on a primary cardiac and stroke telemetry unit. The unit is challenging and fast-paced, typically turning over 78 to 90 patients per week — meaning a nurse with a 6-patient assignment can end up turning over their complete assignment and starting over. A team lead is available to assist with admissions and discharges. The unit currently houses COVID-positive patients with the use of opti-flow and BIPAP, and the high side (23-bed side) of the CTU functions as a COVID unit taking patients on opti-flow and acute BIPAPs during a COVID surge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Titrate Cardizem drips as required per patient condition
  • Manage telemetry monitoring and pulse oximetry

    Pyxis, Dimensions (EPIC), and SBAR
  • Participate in self-scheduling per unit guidelines with oversight from leadership to balance as needed
