Rowan Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Wound Care Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary Wound Care team. In this role, you will provide specialized assessment, treatment, education, and care coordination for patients with acute and chronic wounds. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals, you will develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote healing, improve patient outcomes, and enhance quality of life.

What You'll Do
  • Provides patient care to Wound Care Center patients and handles patient intake and discharge processes as assigned and according to the hospital and nursing standards
  • May also serve as Case Manager to a group of patients as assigned. This entails:
    • Performing the initial nursing assessment, communicating findings with the assigned physician, assessing the wound stage and measurements, documenting care plans, evaluating the patient’s status in regards to desired outcomes, and identifying patient care situations that require intervention
    • Participating in quality improvement initiatives, providing education to the patient or caregiver, and serving as a patient advocate in the delivery and coordination of the patient care
  • Collaborates as needed with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Center Providers, the Program Director and the Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs
  • Prepares, educates and orients patients about the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. This includes lifting or transferring patients per local policy, getting them ready for treatment administration and answering their questions.
  • Administers the hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider to the patient. This includes monitoring and controlling the performance of the hyperbaric chamber equipment, as well as monitoring the patient(s)’ responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patient’s safety and the safe and effective use of the equipment.
  • Makes appropriate data entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits and keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation, to include photo uploading.
  • Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support oxygen systems as required
  • Participates in the safety program activities such as assisting with safety drills
What We're Looking For
  • Education:

    2 Year / Associate Degree, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
  • Experience:

    2 years, required.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    Current RN license in appropriate state, required. Wound Certification, preferred.
  • Additional Skills (required):
    • Excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Must be able to provide care with minimal supervision.
  • Additional Skills (preferred):
    • Wound certification.
    • Expertise with advanced wound care products and techniques.
