The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. ** Description of Work

The new salary range is $41,206-$72,113 This is a repost...previous applicants will need to reapply to be considered This is a position at Piedmont Correctional Institution located in Salisbury, N.C. (Rowan County), which is a Medium male prison facility housing 800 inmates.
Positions perform skilled work in the maintenance, repair and/or construction of buildings and facilities. Work requires specialization in two or more technical trades in connection with maintenance of facilities, related equipment and machinery. Positions function at the journey level in multiple skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, masonry, heating and air, or similar specializations. Work assignments are complex and require planning and coordination of multiple trade disciplines.
Positions function with limited oversight and seek input from higher level trades specialists in the completion of novel maintenance problems and issues. Work is performed independently; however, positions may refer unusual work problems to their supervisor for consideration and final determination. Positions provide technical guidance to other positions engaged skilled, semiskilled or unskilled maintenance work. Positions ensure that work performed adheres to established maintenance, repair and/or construction standards.
