COO - OPS - Institutions Operations

Electrician II (S)

This is a position at Piedmont Correctional Institution located in Salisbury, N.C. (Rowan County), which is a Medium male prison facility housing 800 inmates. This is journeyman level work in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. New or unusual work orders are usually accompanied by sketches or blueprints. This position will report to the facility Maintenance Supervisor.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Systems:
    Installs, alters, and repairs wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, and power distribution systems.
  • Conduit & Wiring:
    Measures, cuts, threads, bends, and installs conduit, and pulls wire through existing conduit systems.
  • Equipment & Lighting:
    Troubleshooting & Repair
  • Institutional & Safety Compliance

Salary Range: $41,206-$72,113 Salary Grade: NC09

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Documented knowledge of the standard practices and methods of the electrical trade.
  • Documented knowledge of reading and working from blueprints and sketches

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week)
