OverviewThe Service Now Platform Engineer IV is a senior level individual contributor who designs and operates core platform services and developer productivity tooling, embedding automation and security throughout. This role delivers secure, reliable platform capabilities that shorten lead time for changes and improve developer satisfaction. Aids in driving end-to-end solution design for Service Now capabilities, aligning platform architecture with business outcomes to accelerate delivery, improve service reliability, and ensure governance at scale.
Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. The core office locations for this position are Salisbury, NC, Chicago, IL and Quincy, MA.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities- Architect platform services and CI/CD capabilities using reusable modules.
- Champion best-in-class Service Now development practices, maximizing use of OOB capabilities to accelerate delivery, ensure platform consistency, and reduce operational risk.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and compliance validations.
- Harden platforms and pipelines with integrated controls and guardrails.
- Improve observability, tuning signals for fast diagnosis.
- Lead migrations, upgrades, and complex incidents.
- Document standards, runbooks, and developer guides.
- Mentor engineers and champion product mindset practices.
- May be called upon to support critical escalations and must be available during urgent IT incidents as needed.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of work experience.
- 8+ years in platform or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong background in automation, CI/CD, and container/runtime services.
- Proven incident response and reliability engineering skills.
- Effective communication and influence.
- Exposure to cost optimization and performance testing at scale.
- Familiarity with artifact and dependency management.
$146,960 - $220,440
