Part - Time Maintenance Worker - Street Sweeper Operator

Essential Job Functions:

• Operates a sweeping vehicle that cleans streets and lot trash, leaves, and other debris.
• Ensures supplies and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating the sweeper.
• Performs pre‑ and post‑trip inspections of the assigned vehicle.
• Ensures the vehicle is operating correctly while on the route and notifies fleet services of any concerns.
• Understands and practices operating best practices.
• Immediately reports any unsafe situations to supervisor.
• Participates in all scheduled training, briefings, and safety meetings.
• Works closely with supervisor to improve route efficiencies and identify on‑road issues.
• Provides a positive professional customer attitude when dealing with customers.
• Performs other street‑cleaning duties as needed.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid North Carolina Class "B" Commercial driver’s license.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• May be required to work after normal business hours, on call, or in emergency situations.
• Ability to work for extended periods of time in all types of weather.
