Residential Child Care Worker - Salisbury
Join our Children's Residential Homes in Salisbury as a Residential Child Care Worker
. You will be part of a team of compassionate, child-focused adults whose mission is to give the best experiences to our children and young people. We are supported by a bigger team with integrated services, including Clinical and education colleagues, and operate a trauma-informed therapeutic model to help childrenturn their lives around.
- Support children and young people through a variety of activities and events, e.g., kayaking, rock climbing, swimming, skating, arts and crafts, beach adventures, forest walks, movie nights, and camping in the back garden.
- Act as a role model, guiding and supporting children to make good choices.
- Maintain the home: cleaning, cooking meals, and learning new skills such as nutritional meal planning, first aid, Health & Safety, and gardening.
- Develop your professional career through the Level 4 apprenticeship in residential childcare.
- Follow clear career pathways for future development.
The role includes some overnight stays in the home. Sleep-ins occur between 2 and 3 times per week, with the salary including an average of 8 sleep-ins per month. For each sleep-in you receive an additional £50 per night. The advertised salary is based on completing 2 sleep-ins per week.
Requirements- Good written, verbal, and IT communication skills; understand the importance of play in child development.
- Aiming to achieve Level 4 Qualification; driving licence preferred and age over 19.
- 30 days annual leave (22 days plus 8 bank holidays) with a holiday purchase scheme.
- 3-week rolling rota, provided 6 weeks in advance.
- £50 per sleep-in payment on top of salary.
