We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a prominent commercial vehicle dealer group operating since 1973 with 12 centres across Southern England. They are seeking a qualified HGV Technician to join their team based in Salisbury, with an upcoming relocation to a new site in Andover. Duties of a HGV Technician
  • Conduct all servicing and maintenance work on heavy goods vehicles to the highest standards, within manufacturer time frames
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle malfunctions accurately and efficiently
  • Support colleagues with technical issues and share innovations as an HGV Technician
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures
  • Document diagnosis findings, repairs, and safety inspections comprehensively
  • Contribute to maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and vehicle reliability
Requirements of a HGV Technician
  • Reside within reasonable commuting distance of Salisbury and Andover
  • Hold IMI/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair; practical experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
  • Strong practical knowledge of truck, trailer, van, and ancillary equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Experience in diagnosis and repair of heavy vehicles
  • An HGV driving licence, IRTEC, or tachograph licence is advantageous but not essential at this stage
  • Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Technicians seeking to move into HGV work are encouraged to apply
