** Job Description

Summary:

** We are seeking an outstanding individual who will be responsible for vaccinations, bird moves, male selection, grading, cleaning, and disinfecting all equipment involved to ensure bio-security. All duties should be performed with safety, bio-security, and animal welfare being top priorities. This role plays a critical part in overall success of the farm operations within the vaccination crew. This crew has primary responsibilities for the animal care and welfare of the birds.

*** Work with day old chicks
* Will be required to collect birds for moving, weighing, and vaccinations
* Must be able to work with live animals and the associated environment (poultry houses)
* Collect blood samples, band/tag or remove tags from birds
* Must follow Animal Care Standards, Animal Welfare Guidelines, and Bio-Security policies and procedures
* Ability to work with chemicals such as detergents, disinfects, etc.
* Must perform essential duties in a safe and efficient manner as trained
* Must be able to be around farm related smells or odors and loud/noisy environment
* May occasionally work up to 6 days a week, including some holidays, & weekends.

* Job Qualifications:

*** Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform simple task
* Ability to perform work that is repetitive in nature
* Ability to stand for long periods of time
* Ability to grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wrist
* Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50lbs
* Bend and stoop throughout the shift
* Animal husbandry experience preferred but not required.
* Valid driver's license is a must.
* Able to work in outside temperatures.
* Able to work well in teams.
