Irrigation Technician

Position: Full-Time Irrigation Technician
Join the City of Salmon Arm as a full-time Irrigation Technician, contributing to the health of community parks and fields. Utilize your expertise in automated irrigation systems to ensure public spaces thrive.

As a skilled Irrigation Technician, you will be part of the Parks team, responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining both manual and automated irrigation systems. This hands-on role involves supporting water-efficient operations while minimizing disruptions to public use. Your irrigation knowledge and technical skills will be key in keeping the city’s outdoor environments in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, install, maintain, and winterize irrigation systems

• Program computerized irrigation and weather control systems

• Repair irrigation heads, lines, and valves

• Assess plant and soil moisture needs

• Provide on-site direction for contractors and crews

Requirements:

• Grade 12 graduation or equivalent

• 3+ years of automated irrigation experience

• Knowledge of Rain Bird and Toro products

• Valid BC Class 3 Driver's License

• Ability to obtain Certified Irrigation Technician Level II
